The Promise Remains – Love Wins

love wins, you said

Love wins, Diva said. She's right. I need to open my heart and let the love pour through.
I felt it pour through me

I felt it
as declaration
as call to action
as promise

love wins

I felt it murmur
through my heart
I saw it brighten
butterfly wings

love wins

I know it to be true

yet my heart loses faith
sometimes

buried under
expectation
comparison
deep hurt

love waits

floating
just beyond my grasp

I forget that all I need do
is open my heart
and let the love pour through

love wins

Diva's ashes and food dish, gently being set aside to make way for Christmas ornaments. She is still vividly here in our hearts.as I set aside
these reminders
of your time here with us

ready for us to move forward
through the season of love
and kindness

I know that love flows
here
now
and always
thank you, Diva

you are right

love wins

My heart has been all over lately. There is much to be concerned with, much that hurts deeply, much reason to hope for change.

I won’t tell you what to do. Your heart is yours. For myself, I pour love into the world – into all who need comfort, equality, love, understanding. To all whose hearts are hardened by the world they live and work in. To all those who work for change. To all those who work in systems that need change. There are too many to mention.

That love pours from the Universe and out onto butterfly wings that carry it all to where it needs to be.

Love wins. May all hearts – and your heart – receive it.
