My Wish For You at Christmas

Macro photo of blue sky and structures reflected in suspended tree sap. Feel what you feel and know your heart is perfect.it starts
words tumble out

then falter
and die off
altogether

the muse offers
a fresh angle
new direction

and the words
bubble over
gaining traction

then collapsing
yet again

how do I tell you
what I want you to hear?

how do I hold your heart?

breathe in this moment
let judgement and expectation
fly off on butterfly wings

let go
let it flow
and feel the release

It’s Christmas time, the last dark days of our year, the turning point from dark to light.

And I want you to know:

I love you.

You are not alone.

Whether you feel happiness or nostalgia, grief or hope, overwhelm or loneliness, know that you are not the only one.

In each of us the feelings swirl, measures of light and dark mixed in our own unique blend.

Memories arrive that may be sad, bittersweet, heartbreaking or heartwarming.

What I want for you is to feel them.

Feel what you feel.

Let it move through you.

Let it be the song your heart sings in this moment.

There will be time for what others need. There will be time to shift your mood to what you want it to be.

But for now, just this now, feel what you feel.

I have them, too, those feelings.

The ones that we try to mask, to hide, to keep under wraps.

The feelings of heartbreak and sad that this holiday brings back to me.

And beside them, feelings of love overflowing, of bright lights pouring into darkness, of snow flakes and sunshine and contented fur babies.

It’s all here, all as it is meant to be.

You are not alone in this. We are many who feel this stir and chaos within.

You heart and mine, they are built for this. They have broken open again and again so that we may feel all of this and know that it is true, that all is well.

May your heart know its own beautiful perfection, its own fullness of light and dark, its own Divine within. May you welcome her with ease and grace and let her love flow through you in all you do.

Merry Christmas, blessed Solstice and good tidings for all the rituals and observances you keep for this tender time.

    What a wonderful gift you have given us Teresa, on this day and through all of your sharing. To invite us to feel, be present, and remain – together – is the place from which we will move forward into the new year – together.

    May you be surrounded by the magic of butterflies and carried on their wings throughout 2014.

    Shine on!
