The Lovers

here I am

small and big

            light and dark
                      joyous and grieving
       accepting and discerning

I am contradiction

      giving and receiving
           extraordinary in my ordinariness
      sending ripples

to caress your soul

in the moments
   we all have these moments

when the path seems dark

                    when I don’t know my way
            when my contradictions are at odds
   their fire squelched by my uncertainty

I have you

           soul-family
     to show me who I am

to remind me of my path

      to love my fire
                  of contradiction

just as I love you
